The characters are flawed, real people with real human emotions, they are working in stressful dangerous situations and actually become fatigued and a little bit irrational at times, which is nice to see. Buchman creates just enough detail around military/firefighting tactics that the story feels really authentic without it losing flow because of long winded explanations. ![]()
